Carlin J Nicholson

is a Juno nominated Canadian music producer, mixer, songwriter, and recording artist from Big Bay Point, Innisfil.

He co-founded XM award-winning and two time Polaris Prize-nominated Arts & Crafts band ZEUS. He has collaborated and performed with a multitude of award-winning & nominated artists artists:

As a founding member of Canadian indie rock stalwarts Zeus, multi-instrumentalist Mike O’Brien has over 20 years of recording, producing and touring experience. Mike has had the pleasure of working alongside such luminaries as Feist, Bahamas, Dan Mangan, Amy Millan, Jason Collett and Donovan Woods to name a few. In addition to releasing four full length albums with Zeus, in 2018 he collaborated with Toronto producer Jason Haberman on Ocean Potion and in 2024 issued a solo album under the moniker Meko Brain. Since 2019 Mike has been producing and recording young up and coming artists alongside his musical partner Carlin Nicholson at Pineship Sound in Toronto Ontario. In addition to the fostering of new talent, Mike has also worked as a composer for film and television creating an original score for the film Porcupine Lake which premiered at TIFF. In the studio Mike is an enthusiastic collaborator who loves the process of bringing the best out of a song or piece of music by finding the human element.

Our comfortable and inspiring studio is equipped with a choice selection of recording equipment, processors and vintage instruments. We feel that creating and recording music is one of the greatest joys one could wish for and should be a fun enriching experience. Some of our producers have been making music together for 20+ years!

Our production approach can be as hands on or off as you wish. We can help with song composition, arrangements, harmonies, hooks and source professional session musicians for any instrument.

We also mix and master — for and independent of projects we record.
